wildcard- chicken catastrophe quest (lmk if you'd like any changes!)

Man, it's troublesome we can't blast the chickens with magic, [says the Tiefling who'd introduced herself as Absinthe to Ko at the gates of the farmer needing help some twenty minutes prior. She's standing in the empty chicken run, surveying it with hands on her hips.] -most of my skillset is killing things, I'm afraid, so.

[She steps back out of the ajar gate, and looks around the various farm things stored in the vicinity in stacks and heaps, as a lived-in farm does. The farmer had quickly left after explaining the situation, citing “havin’ so much to do”, but offered that they could borrow any farm tools they needed to get the job done.]

Maybe we could catch em’ in a box?

[She picks up a crate, empties its contents into another one, and looks over at Ko for his thoughts.]

( This sort of thing is very much out of his wheelhouse, but to earn his keep here is something that's important to him. So he considers her question. )

Neither killing nor magic are in my repertoire, but a box seems like a good idea ...

( Something chimes in his head; an idea. )

Maybe we can lure a few with their feed and go after the others?

That's a good idea!

[She thinks, at least, she doesn't know a lot about chicken-catching. Absinthe sets the crate down to start hunting around the farmyard for the chicken feed.]

The chicken food's gotta be around here somewhere. [She shifts aside some farming tools, a hoe and a rake, lifts the lid of a storage barrel to look inside.] Over here, this looks like it, yeah?

[She lifts up a scoop filled with grainy pellets.]

( Ko moves to follow her, peering into the barrel as well. )

Looks about right ... We can scatter it a little and wait.

( Taking a scoop in one hand and another nearby crate with the other, Ko feels a little anxious about the task at hand. He's confident in his people skills and the way he leads back home, but not so much ... farm chores.

But he's moving again anyway, turning to scatter the pellets. He walks as he does, getting a somewhat even coverage on the earth below. )

I suppose we wait now. I suspect the ones that might come will be easier than those who aren't interested.

( And just like that, a few of them come to hurry over at the sound of falling feed. )

I think they'll come faster if we hide!

[Absinthe says this, and then… just fully disappears? If Ko never loses sight of her he'd see her squeeze herself totally out of sight behind a shed in the span of half a second, but as a rogue with a very high stealth score, it's a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it move.

Absinthe often forgets this- or rather, forgets that her allies don't have the same ability to hide really fast- so it'll take her a few seconds before she realises this might confuse Ko.]
