Cloud cannot find a hint of malice or sarcasm in Sephiroth's voice. No, he's just as painfully genuine as he was the day they were in the chicken pen. Is that a hint of sympathy? It makes Cloud's chest feel strange, even more than the idea of the man being relatable in any way.
