EVENT #6: MOTHER'S DAY

MODIFIERS: A BRIEF OVERVIEW

For this event, you may assign your character stat-modifiers. What are stats? See here for a basic explanation of what the ability scores are what what they actually translate to in regards to your character's traits.

Usually, modifiers are a number one through ten that add a bonus to rolls based on how good at something you are. Here is a deeper explanation of modifiers and how they relate to your characters base stats

Figure out what you think your character is good at! Are they EXTREMELY charismatic? Maybe they have a +5 to charisma, which means when rolling a d20, they can add 5 to the overall roll. If they rolled a 15, they would add the 5 to make it 20.

We will, like most all things before, leave these base stats and modifiers up to an honor system. However, if someone has nothing but +10s across the board we may ask for adjustments or reasoning behind the decisions.

You can also choose to fail a roll if you so wish! It's ultimately up to you how successful or not you want your character to be.

A LIGHT IN THE DARK

Sometime during the night, something begins to light up the darkness.

Whenever you wake due to the growing light likely mistaken for the sun rising, you feel far too warm. Opening a door or a window quickly proves to be a bad idea though as it feels like opening a hot oven. Strong, hot gusts of wind rattle windows and doors, tear any clothes from their drying lines, and knock over anything that isn’t tethered down. Plant life begins to wither on their vines from the sudden increased heat.

Charlie and Dimitri are already awake and standing in the middle of Town, eyes locked on the strangely colored sky. Everything seems washed in a pale light. If you follow their gaze, they are fixated on the brightest point of light in the sky that appears directly positioned above Town itself. It is a slowly widening, disk that is almost too bright to look at for long.

The pair of natives seem not just fixated... but there is a clear look of fear there.

It isn't long before that disk widens more, almost like a hole being torn into the sky itself, and something begins to emerge.

It's a... hand? Not just one, it seems, as another reaches out from beyond the veil. Then another, and another still. Countless human-looking arms reach out from the open hole in the sky, grasping the edge of it as if to gain purchase and pull itself forth.

At last, something larger emerges. A long snout is seen first and then a head of bright, blindingly white fur with perfectly sloped winged ears and glassy curved antlers.

A halo of light surrounds Her.

She is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen.

( Roll a Wisdom Check and add your modifier. If you total below a 12, you begin weeping unbidden. You weep for joy, weep for beauty, weep for the sheer awe, and weep for utter despair. )

The long, snaking body continues to emerge, those hands and arms lining her form like a centipede.

Finally, she opens her eyes. All of them.

The eyes also scatter down her impossibly long form, all as radiant as her own. Shining with colors you cannot describe and have not seen before but are hypnotic all the same.

The heat outside intensifies.

You hear Charlie scream something, but the buzzing in your brain is too loud to make it out.
Those eyes show you everything you've ever wanted. Everything you need. They make silent promises. Comply and be rewarded richly for She has the power to make it happen for you. You are certain She does.

But then they show you what will happen to those who decline. Your greatest insecurities, traumas, and dreads are all exposed. The deepest, most painful corners of your mind are laid bare.

She can deliver that, too.

Then, the the sky begins to weep fire. The white-hot comets come raining down, smashing into buildings and people alike without prejudice. They explode and send chunks of debris flying everywhere. Many of the locals scream, some will die, and most will run.

⁂ Ice-breathing dragons will find their breath weapon very useful here.

Along with the weeping sky, creatures start to pour from that portal She opened.

They are dragons- or were. Now they are nothing but animated bones of dragons. Still, they fly by some magic. They fly and come to attack anyone who tries to flee, viciously ripping people apart. They advance on Town, coming to finish what the fire did not.

⁂ Acid-breathing dragons will find that they are quite effective at melting bone.

Suddenly, a defiant roar cracks the chaos, and where once Charlie stood, a massive, spiraling torrent of golden light shoots up to meet the assailant in the sky.

He looks quite similar in form, though lacking eyes and endless hands.

FFXIV OST - Ultima

When they come to clash, it is a hateful display. They tear at each other, spilling strange "blood", claws, fangs, radiant light in the form of breath. But at least… at least for a moment, the fire stops falling.

The sounds are more horrific than the fight itself. Punctuated by an agonized howl, Athaerlexii summons an ornate spear, piercing Charlie’s neck. A torrent of that blood rains down, and where it lands, it heals. Plants grow, animals emerge from the very air itself, and anyone who comes in contact with it will see their wounds healed.

They bleed the very essence of life.

For a moment, it seems as though she has Charlie cornered, his long form twisting like a ribbon in the wind.

⁂ No doubt, some will have taken to the air by now to address the biggest threat.

Coming close to Athaerlexii can only be done in short bursts. The air around Her is super-heated. The multitude of Her eyes see all and those hands will also attempt to grab, swat, or smash assailants.

The eyes are unsurprisingly vulnerable to attack.

A strange new, booming deep voice fills the air so all may hear. It begins to offer guidance.

To fly in random patterns, draw her gaze everywhere.

⁂ Ice and Acid-aspected attacks can be used together to make exploding projectiles.

⁂ Lightning-aspected dragons can combine their breath weapons to create more powerful bolts, or partner with fire-breathing allies to create crackling, electric explosions.

⁂ Those who breathe clouds of poison gas can have it set alight into massive explosions by Fire-aspected companions.

The voice implores you to be creative, find other ways to combine your strength with your fellows, as She will not be defeated by one alone. Charlie needs your help.

At last, the onslaught of attacks gets the better of Athaerlexii and She hesitates. Long enough that Charlie gets a grip on her maw, prying Her jaws apart as wide as they will open. She claws at him, screeches a horrible screech, but his hold is sure as he slackens his jaw and sends a bright, blazing pillar of light directly down Her throat.

The resulting explosion deafens and blinds, leaving ears ringing and the chaos muffled.

She is gone... but so is Charlie.

Now you still have the leftovers of her chaos to deal with. Fires burn and those skeletal dragons still stalk the weak.

For anyone who still has the wherewithal to look to the sky, they will see a small flickering light. Like a flame in the wind, it descends. Within it is a small glimpse a life. But that is the least of your worries at the moment.

THE AFTERMATH

The towns of Hast and Ich have also been devastated by the attack, sustaining widespread destruction and casualties. Still, some survivors come to offer aid.

Town has been razed for the most part. (Any buildings that were obtained via Wish/Bonds are still standing, protected by Charlie's magic.)

The injured and dead are countless, and even after the last of the skeletal dragons have gone, tension and fear is a constant undercurrent.

The Fae emerge. Once your friendly tormentors, they offer aid: healing, food, water, and trying their best to bring a smile where they can. Even they understand that this is no time for pranks. They grow temporary shelters out of sprouted willows and vines to house those in most dire need.

There is a strange new arrival, too. That booming voice you heard during the battle turns out to have belonged to a massive black dragon. He's far larger than what one would consider average. He calls himself Akkelion and takes it upon himself to help triage the sick and build shelters. He doesn’t explain where he’s from...

At least, not yet. There are more important things to tend to for now.

Within a few days, aid arrives from those further out as word spreads. New Svihelen and Vorrun come to return your kindness with supplies and manpower.

Later still, after about a week, a very unexpected but organized group marches into Town. They are all in some kind of odd uniform, almost military-esque if it wasn't for the oddly short-shorts they wear and the letter emblem on their clothes. Are they... mailmen? They’re some of the burliest, most griseled mailmen you have ever seen.

They are lead by a massive, white crocodile man.

This group is from Raumm. They have brought a huge caravan of not just supplies but serious building material. Without much prompting, they begin actual construction. They are (re-)laying plumbing, building with brick and cement, and electrical wires. They tell people they are part of the Draconic Refugee Relief Task Force and ordered by the leader of Raumm, Nefri herself, to aid Town as they can.

The rebuilding process is slow, but there are many helping hands assisting not just Town, but Hast and Ich as well. Please know that things will not be fixed overnight and this is a permanent, major setting change that will require time and effort to rebuild.

There is also the problem of those who died. Charlie has been revealed to still be alive, but barely. He has been reduced to a sliver of what he once was. He exists as a nonverbal little wyrmling, mostly only able to sleep and occasionally chirrup.

He cannot raise anyone or grant any wishes in his current state.

Anyone who perished in the battle will remain dead for the first two weeks of the month.

If they are fighters, they can take on a variety of actions to try and tackle threats both small and large. Don't be afraid to ask us if you aren't sure and/or need a bit more direction! ⁂ Like stated in the event post, revivals will take two weeks if your character perishes in this event. Think seriously about that if you want it to happen! While we don't mind people forward-dating revivals, we do want to stress that due to limitations with the revival mechanic your character will not be popping right back up for this event and for the foreseeable future.

SUMMARY: In the spirit of the season, Rosie is hosting a bit of Valentine's Day fun at her tavern and inn. There's some prompts for people who want some guidance, but otherwise feel free to come up with or do anything you want!

ALL THE WAY INN

A dated vine-covered wood and stone two-story building. Lodging is situated on the second floor while the ground floor is primarily for the restaurant and tavern portion of the business. It has tables out front that are decorated with various plants and ale pitchers. The windows of the establishment are opened to show the floral, decorated inside as well.

No matter the season, everything seems to be consistently thriving... which can be attributed to the gifts over nature that Demora has lent the owner now that their bond is stronger. It definitely stands out amongst the more mundane buildings but not obnoxiously so.

It is primarily used by traveling merchants from neighboring city-states, but more and more people have begun adding Town to their route for this locale. It promises seasonally-themed delights, live entertainment, and the owner is mentioned to be extremely hospitable and friendly.

Rosie does have her hand in almost every aspect of the business but is always open to taking on more help.

Fleet Foxes - White Winter Hymnal

As mentioned last month, an engineer from the city of Raumm has been working in town to try and update the infrastructure. Namely, he's been trying to implement running water using a combination of his own inherent abilities and technical knowledge. It's been a more complicated process than he originally anticipated but that's only made him more determined.

Unfortunately, his strict working conditions and extra hours demanded has left a larger margin for error. One morning, people will awaken to the crack-shatter of a pipe (or several) and rushing of water through Town unexpectedly. Rather than turning into a flood though, it ices over nearly everything it touches and swiftly.

Maybe it caught you in the process and you need some help being picked out from the road. Perhaps you're now trapped in your house due to far too many icicles hanging from your roof and covering the door. Maybe you're actually living it up and impromptu ice-skating across Town now.

Watch your step, workers will advise, and don't mind the Sahuagin-esque swears coming from their head engineer. He's fine. It'll be fine. ... It'll probably be fine!

To try and turn this disaster into something a bit more fun though, Town decides to kill two birds with one stone and proposes an ice sculpting competition. People are free to compete with the promise of small prizes for their efforts. Whether doing it the old-fashioned way or using one's dragon breath, the point is to have fun!

Well, that and- Please help them chip away some of this ice before it causes more damage.

SPICY EXPERIMENTATION

If that header is misleading, our apologies. Anything untoward is actually one of the farthest things from Hoshiko's mind as she workshops some newer inventions of hers. Although she'd usually have her crew be the test subjects for her gadgets, they're busy and she's stuck here in Town for the time being so- Lucky you, Townsfolk!

If playing with ice and snow isn't your thing (like it isn't hers), then feel free to instead to offer your assistance and feedback on her inventions. She appreciates it! For your help, you'll be rewarded with mulled wine. That's spicy, right? She can also help people acquire one (1) luxury item imported from Raumm for their help. It'll even be delivered in time for the new year!

Counting Crows - A Long December

As the year comes to a close, it's a time for reflection and observation. That means there is something people in Town can notice that feels a bit... abnormal. Even amidst the general merriment of this time of year, a sense of something being slightly off persists but can't be sourced to a specific cause.

Those especially in tune with the dragon souls may recognize that it's actually coming from them. If asked, their dragon souls won't have a definitive answer either but can confirm: Something feels wrong even if they aren't sure what or why. Their anxiety will cause an undercurrent in you as the host but to what level is up to how well people are able to cope with such a thing. They suggest finding comfort in spending time with others as they are, just as you likely are, social creatures.

There are also no blizzards or cold snaps to worry about this year in contrast to last. In fact, it's almost uncharacteristically quiet closer to the end of the month. Denizens of Town are free to notice the lack of life that's to an abnormal level. Hibernation is one thing but it feels as if most animals have left the area entirely rather than just gone to sleep.

First the crops and a poor harvest, now with the wildlife being absent, and even in the stale weather patterns- It's hard to not feel a little uneasy too outside of your dragon soul's dread. There is an unsettling stillness to the world that will cause people to be more on edge than usual.

Hopefully, a new year though will mean a new start and better things to come.

After hearing of the bravery against Intellect Devourers and assistance offered to Vorrun, New Svihelen has opened its borders to offworlders. Not only that, but you've all been invited to a carnevale and masquerade ball to celebrate your contributions to the realm! Each resident of Town will receive a formal invitation card:

... before whisked away on a boat by Hoshiko and her personal fleet to ensure safe maritime travel. Hopefully, no one gets too seasick. Don't worry if the crew seems a little, uh, unsavory. They're pirates. You all know this. But that means they're willing to do whatever will get them a paycheck which right now includes the safety of Townsfolk. Don't worry! They'll take good care of you.

Once pulled into port, offworlders are told their invitation cards will be admission into the venue once it's available. So, don't lose it! For now, the traveling carnevale is still setting up and will spend most of the days doing so. While the main event will be in the evenings, offworlders are encouraged to explore New Svihelen and it's many vendors in the meantime.

This is a massive city-state and the primary port for South Kamurkia. It shows in the hustle and bustle of the marketplace that seemingly never ends. Merchants shout out their wares and prices, bards perform on the street for coin, and no doubt you'll come across the occasional beggar. The citizens here often enjoy the convenience of having plenty of imports and business. There is some talk of a problem with classism here, but the merchants clogging the streets don’t seem to care who takes their coin.

For many from Town, this will be the first time they're able to potentially purchase more luxury goods and harder to source materials. Just be careful to watch your coin purses! Pickpockets run rampant here, it seems, and no one has much inclination to stop them. Also, you might want to work on your haggling skills or run the risk of being fleeced by local merchants seeing opportunity in fresh new faces.

(MOD NOTE: We won't keep track of funds or purchases in New Svihelen, but we ask like usual that folks do keep it reasonable! No 50-lb bags of coffee grounds or kegs of alcohol to bring back. If nothing else, a weight limit on the ferry home can be listed as reasons for why people need to be a bit more choosy with their spending.

And if you want to make sure, you can always ask us about specific items and their availability!)

THE PLOT THICKENS...

Eventually, Townsfolk will want to make their way to the City Commissioner's office. While they're being fitted by his personal tailor for their outfits, they'll also be greeted by Chief Inspector Vrock Brusseau in secret. Is it the best time for conversation? Perhaps not, but! You also can't escape his spiel and that's also kind of the point.

He explains that after hearing about the people of Town arriving, he took the opportunity to reach out to request some help with an investigation into recent suspected cult activities. He fears a resurgence of The Brotherhood of the Sky cult and wants to take the party as an opportunity to investigate.

The basic explanation is that he believes the cult is disseminating drugs into the community to vie for control in the city. They'll use this advantage to gain a foothold amongst the more affluent in New Svihelin and bolster their influence in the area. Your mission therefore is to investigate, find the dealer of the drugs, and try to find leads back to the supplier.

As you are all new faces, he hopes that you will fly under the radar so people will be more forthcoming with you. Unfortunately, your time together is up before he can say much more. And by that, we mean: He's shooed out of the Commissioner's Office once caught and called a 'quack' by the tailor. If asked about what he said, you'll be reassured it's all nonsense.

Everything is fine. Enjoy your new outfit, show it off a little, and the carnevale.

ENJOY THE SHOW

Once night rolls around and Townsfolk are ready with their invitations, they're allowed entry into the carnevale. It lines several city streets and is an overwhelming turnout. While some might take the supposed investigation to heart, others are free to just enjoy themselves. It's probably best to play the part of an unassuming attendee a little, at least, and there's plenty to do to lessen suspicion!

Eventually, the main event is staged. In a large, ornate building of one of the upper echelon of New Svihelen is where the masquerade ball is being hosted. Masks are required during this part of the event... for better or worse.

Thankfully, some people are easier to tell apart than others. Keeping your identity a secret though is key in case you get caught snooping around too much.

Everyone is encouraged to drink, mingle, and find partners to dance with during the appropriate scores. It's all, on the surface, just a bit of harmless fun. However, there are a handful of individuals that players can notice acting suspicious and interrogate.

The people to question are:

Pick one from the list and comment here to see what you may be able to learn from them. People will need to roll a d20 for information and keep rolling until they roll below an 8. Once they roll lower than that, the encounter will be over.

Groups will gain a point of advantage in these encounters for each member of the group (re-rolls). These re-rolls count for the entire encounter, not per individual roll.

(For example: Byleth rolls a 2 but is working with Elidibus. Elidibus can trigger a re-roll and, if he gets a higher number than 8, continue the encounter. Once Elidibus rolls lower than an 8 though, the encounter is over entirely for those two characters.)

Tanabata Time

After her network post explaining the holiday, Rosie is allowing guests to come visit the inn to write their own wishes! Everyone is free to celebrate and she promises to safeguard them going forward.

A CALL FOR AID

Charlie comes on the network with a grim expression. Some papers are held in one hand and Dimitri stands like a statue behind him.

"I have received an urgent request from our neighbors to the east, Vorrun. Their council has heard of your good work for the local communities and has requested assistance with a sudden influx of aggression in the local wildlife and a disturbing trend of monster attacks. Vorrun has suffered losses in the past and the current population is struggling to keep these assailants at bay.

They have requested our help in not only fending off the attacks, but figuring out the source of the issue.

We will secure transport to Vorrun via a small wagon caravan.

This is wholly optional and you may stay in Town if you like! Or, you can visit Vorrun as a tourist during this time. I just ask that you are polite and sensitive to our hosts. We will be leaving tomorrow at eight AM. Dimitri will remain in Town for those who do not wish to attend."

To do what, exactly? Well... Now might be as good a time as any to begin testing your skills as a newfound dragon.

To those that will be traveling to Vorrun though, Charlie ends with: "Thank you, we hope to see you bright and early!"

HAPPY HELPERS

Vorrun is a city-state located in a steep valley nestled between two mountain ranges. As such, it is blessed with a verdant landscape and plenty of rain. The mornings often come covered in mist that lifts throughout the day but adds an ethereal quality to the locale.

The people of Vorrun tend to be largely Beastmen due to this being a sanctuary for them. Very few children of men live in the city, but there are some here and there who have earned the local's trust and respect. The architecture is reminiscent of what some offworlders recognize feudal Japan.

All around, the locals go about their business as usual. There is an undercurrent of anxiety due to the recent attacks yet most appear to be doing the best they can to remain optimistic. They are also wary of newcomers given the rather isolated nature of the place. Once you engage with the people though, they are overall polite and friendly.

While offworlders learn for more information on how they'll be helping as Charlie and Nobu meet initially, there are a handful of things to do around the city-state.

Hiroyuki Sawano is a Japanese composer, arranger, lyricist, pianist, and music producer best known for his work on many anime series, video games, television dramas, and films. His pieces tend to have exceedingly strange titles, featuring numbers, symbols, and letters from various different alphabets. He stated that he decided this because he wants "people to be able to listen to the songs in their own way and have their own reaction."

After a day or so of delegations and working through red tape, offerworlders are allowed to investigate among the mountain range. Their instructions are provided by Nobu who appears to be an authoritative leader.

Everyone is warned again about the increased aggression of the surrounding monsters, but hopefully a cause might be found.

It is recommended to work in pairs.

ABANDONED BATTLEFIELD

The war-torn remnants of an old battlefield from Vorrun's war with the orcs. Old, broken weapons and armaments stand as ghostly relics of the horrors that this place saw.

ROVAAN NAH'S GRAVE

In the bottom of a crystal clear pool, the massive bones of an Ancient Dragon lay undisturbed. This is the final resting place of the great Draconic Saint, Rovaan Nah: The Roaming Fury.

⁂ Possible Encounters: Allosaurus, Boar, Elk

⁂ Point of Interest: Black, oily sludge seeps from a rock nearby the water. It hasn't contaminated it yet but appears to be oozing that way.

MOUNTAINSIDES

The high cliffs make for a difficult hike, but for a dragon with wings, they are no obstacle. Lush moss hangs from every surface and the ferns are thick. This old-growth forest feels just packed with secrets.

⁂ Possible Encounters: Awakened Giant Wasp, Giant Lizard, Roc, Corrupted Orc

⁂ Item(s) of Interest: A bundle of scrolls is hidden in a tree somewhere. Trying to read them gives one a headache and appears to be in a language that is indecipherable to most.

CASCARA PASS

You can only come through this way with an escort from Vorrun. The pass is dark and full of winding passages. One could easily get lost if they did not know the way by memory. Take care and avoid deep pools of water here. Tempting as they might be to jump in, the escort advises against it.

⁂ Possible Encounters: Aurumvorax, Cloaker, Dire Flat Worm

⁂ Item of Interest: Abandoned along the pass is an old, charred painting of a woman in a veil, with inscription "fire purifies all" along the bottom.

WAYSIDE BAY

A hidden bay that Vorrun receives their trade through. It is a small but busy port is bustling at all hours and well-guarded. They will, of course, let investigators come through and see what they can find. Yet, they will be under close watch so no funny business.

⁂ Possible Encounters: Elemental Spirit (water), Flail Snail, Giant ~~Enemy~~ Crab

⁂ Item of Interest: Hidden by the sand under a dock is a Draconic Medallion. It is of obvious importance, but exactly what can't be determined.

A CRASH IN THE NIGHT

In the dark hours of a snowy early morning, a sudden BOOM can be heard all across Town. It is swiftly followed by sounds of warping metal and then a screeching crash. Curious, albeit groggy, residents emerge only to find a smoking wreck just a mile outside of Town.

The strange craft appears to be almost nautiloid in shape with wrenched, broken tendrils streaming out the opening.

Much of it is metal although some of it almost seems... organic.

Those who with to get a closer look will be met by Charlie and Dimitri who are already on the job. They request curious onlookers keep their distance since this craft is, without a doubt, tremendously dangerous.

Later in the day, there appears to be an outfit of officials coming from the west to investigate and clean up the wreckage. Thankfully(?), you will all find out soon enough what's going on.

Charlie reports to the citizens of Town that an Illithid cargo transport. The pilot did not survive the crash, but they appeared to be transporting some kind of new breed of Intellect Devourers.

"We do not yet know what this new breed is capable of, but..."

Charlie does give everyone a rundown of what an Illithid and what an Intellect Devourer is, what they are capable of, and a keen warning to tread lightly. Many dead ones were discovered in the cargo but several of the enclosures were damaged in the crash and the likelihood of escapees is high.

Charlie reiterates: These creatures are to be killed on sight, or contained until someone can kill it. If you are not confident in your combat abilities, please remain in your homes as much as possible and seal all openings to your dwelling. Those who are capable though are urged to begin patrols of Town alongside Slayd, Dimitri and himself to ensure that Town and the surrounding areas are safe.

Please travel in pairs or groups, do not be alone! Attack from a distance when possible. Hoshiko will offer her assistance as a markswoman as well by picking off any Intellect Devourers from a distance that she can for those that are forced to travel alone. (Don't worry about any jokes she makes of her service not being cheap though. Charlie wouldn't actually let her charge you anything.)

Unfortunately, not even they can predict the blizzard that rolls through Town in the midst of all this. If you happen to see anything skittering through the snow, don't panic too much. It could just be a tiny woodland creature looking for a warm burrow to hide away in!

At least you hope it is.

PROMPT #3

Hybrid intellect devourers are unique from the regular ones in that the goal is not to kill their target, but to gather intelligence and act as a kind of spy network.

They will flee when confronted directly by greater numbers, but will attack a lone target. They do this by jumping at the target's head and wrapping a wet tendril around their neck. They will choke who they've wrapped around if anyone tries to remove it. They are also far more likely to try and attack sleeping target (hence the advice to keep your homes closed!).

These hybrids emit spores that will keep the target asleep during feeding. Their primary goal appears to be infiltrating the targets' minds and absorbing some of their memories. The target will have their mind left mostly intact... though they may suffer short term memory loss, confusion, distress, fatigue and head pain.

Here's where the fun starts!

Once one of these critters has fed on someone, they are onto their next target. When a fed Intellect Devourer feeds from another target, that target may absorb some of the previous target's memories. This can span across multiple victims and be erratic in whose memories taint whose mind. The memories will cross-pollinate in the form of dreams or waking visions and hallucinations.

If one of these creatures is killed, it will explode, releasing a powerful psionic wave and the memories it had absorbed from any recent targets. Anyone within ten (10) yards of the dying creature will be afflicted with extreme head pain in the short term and also witness the memories of it's previous victims.

Enjoy your muddled memories and leggy brain-hunting!

The outfit of people who have come to investigate are from New Svihelen's disaster containment squad and are investigating the hybrid creatures and the possible reason for an Illithid ship to crash here of all places. Right now, the running theory is that interference from the selfsame summoning circle that brought you all here could have caused the interplanar navigation systems of the ship to malfunction but nothing has been determined yet.

Eventually, these creatures will all be rounded up and taken care of. They are persistent and stealthy though in their efforts to survive above all else. Charlie assures that they're doing all they can to make Town safe once and for all but it will take some time.

The idea was really quite simple. A herder with a rather unique group of animals is passing through, and is simply looking for some assistance in entertaining the beasts - to keep them in place really - while she gets some rest.

Ignis and Avan had both shown some interest in it, and agreed to the idea, bringing along their own respective friends who could help.
