abyssalflames: (dramatic pointing!!)

Were it not for the insistence that they be removed from Town and the places closest to it, Lahabrea's first instinct would well have been to simply enforce the same bindings that had served so well in Pandaemonium until at last he had been rendered unable to do so. But he knows, too, that that is no solution. None he can trust to be as permanent as is required.

Fortunately, the spellwork does not take long, and with one final gesture an almost unnatural silence falls on the area as the intellect devourers are forcibly silenced.

"It is done."

He cannot - will not - guarantee that it will keep them safe from what will come when the creatures are killed. But there will at least be no more shrieks to draw others near and no sooner has he finished his spellwork than fire gathers in his hands. He can and will see them finished, as what he sends hurtling at the nearest intellect devourer is less a fireball and more a gently contained inferno.
