To that, Ardyn does give a small huff of amusement. The elf might not have desire (or whatever the case is), but he at least has some semblance of a sense of humor. Good to know.

The question that comes next though makes his expression fall flat, placid as he processes. Well, there's no hiding it now, so: "Being berated by Bahamut? Yes. Not my best moment." It wasn't Bahamut's either, the colossal prick, but Ardyn was powerless to stop him then.

He still is. They all are. And while people from his homeworld appear to have some grand notion of killing him, Ardyn knows they can't because he tried and failed.
