...Yeah. This sort of reaction isn't all that surprising. Not after what Angeal has heard, has experienced. As Cloud reels backwards, clutching at his head... He takes a second just to rub at his mouth, brow pinched in hard.
Zack felt emotions intensely. He never knew any other way to be. Angeal knows, for a fact, that he adored Cloud. That he cared for him as intense as any sun, that he adored him. And for someone he cared for so much, loved so much, could just forget him... It hurts to think about. Even just in concept, ignoring Angeal's own feelings for his old student.
But he can't say anything carelessly. Not unless he wants to shatter Cloud even further. And for all that he's a stubborn ill-mannered idiot... Angeal cares for him, too.
He waits a moment, lets Cloud catch his breath. "...If you're in SOLDIER, you know as well as I do that we're never lacking in combat." So if that helped, there never would have been any need for squats. "Just... think more on that. On why you really stopped."
On why it never was him who did that in the first place.
That's all he'll say, however, hand moving back to his head as he slowly exhales. "Anyway, want to head back to the bakery? My head hurts from that attack, so I need to get something to drink, and it never hurts to make sure that the building is still secure from these things as well."
