That... was a sigh. Maybe even with a faint trace of exasperation? The absolute gall of this elf.

"That's just what I meant. Why give them the credit of treating their will as inevitability? You know enough to know better. And yet, you keep speaking of what was meant to be."

He casts the barest glance over his shoulder. "It was fate, or it was a decision. Choose one."

Mithrun may not know a whole lot about gods - but he's known something close to one. Something whose machinations were so expansive and seemingly inevitable, they could be mistaken for fate.

It never deserved that pass. Neither did these gods, in Mithrun's estimation. Neither did Ardyn, or Mithrun.
