Perhaps the Astrals did know that when they gave him, his brother, and Aera their 'gifts' and it was all just a long, long con with people as pawns to save themselves.
The time table when immortal, as he's learned, is much different. To them, the last two thousand or so years might have just been a blink.
"The people from my home, Eos. Noctis, Prompto, Ignis, Gladiolus- Regis was here for a time. Cor, too." They vanished at some point. It'd probably taken him longer than it should have to realize. He noticed Cor before Regis though since it meant one of his favorite play things wasn't available. "Ravus... " That's complicated, isn't it? "He's the only one that was part of the Empire, like me, but he didn't know any of this." And there hasn't been reason for Ardyn to tell him, at least.
